I've lived in Minnesota all my life, the land of 10,000 Lakes. I think I can count two times that I have put a fishing pole in a lake, and both times the temperature was greater than 32 degrees and there wasn't any ice on the lake.
However, I can now say that I have now experianced Ice Fishing! I didn't do any fishing, but watched as a reported 11,000 anglers braved the unusally wet, snowy 32 degree weather on Gull Lakes Hole in the Bay just north of Brainerd, MN.
